DTCC Kit Supplier – announcement

Most club members will know that the end of previous sponsor arrangements, the arrival of a new committee, and feedback on the existing provision, all implied a need to review kit provision, something we first raised at the AGM in September. That review is now complete. The committee have decided to proceed with Halo Sports, an Andover based supplier run by a distinguished ex-pro cyclist Harry Lodge.

Halo Sports Homepage

We took advice from a hastily formed kit sub committee who did outstanding work on our behalf pulling together a review of nearly all the traditional and obvious suppliers. Halo appeared late in our considerations, but a combination of ease of ordering (no minimum order; on-line ordering by individuals), price, range, and the endorsement of a number of other local cubs, meant that we felt this was the best choice for the club going forward. The result of all of this is, we hope, a much more flexible kit system, with no requirement for the club to tie up money holding stock, a quality product with endorsement from a number of other local clubs, and all at a pretty good price.

A caveat……This is a new kit supplier for us, and whilst we have been guided by the membership’s strong views to leave the design alone, we have had to make some very minor changes. Colour scheme was vital in this aspect, but please bear in mind that colours do change, and even the previous supplier did not 100% match colour across different fabrics. The same may be true here, so please don’t be disappointed if it is not a perfect match for every eagle-eyed club member !!

Preparation for new kit supplier

Website Set Up

The Devizes Town Cycling Page will be set up on Halo website within approximately 7 days from our agreement to proceed with Halo Sports.

Sample Kit

We are looking at holding a representative sample set of kit that club members can access to ensure they have the best chance of getting the sizing right straight off. Location of this is tbc, but we are talking to Finely Tuned Ride over the issue, and we hope to come up with something that suits club members.

Phase 1

Phase 1 is likely to see the availability for ordering of a standard and premium range of bib shorts and short sleeve tops for men and women.

Phase 2

Phase 2 will see the agreement via proofs of new additions to the range, for example long sleeve tops, winter tights, arm/leg warmers, gilets etc. As soon as these are agreed they are added to the website rather than wait and attempt to agree on a dozen different garments in one go.

Halo Sports Kit Ordering Process

Step 1

Log on to DTCC page on Halo website using club log in details

Step 2

Click on the items you would like to order, indicate sizing, then fill in a form with your details, including delivery address. Payment is made through paypal. On the 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th of each month Halo collate the order received and place the order. Delivery time for the orders is 4-5 weeks.

Step 3

Once the items are at Halo sports the items will be sent by 1st class post individually to each person’s delivery address at a charge of £3 which is added when you make the payment.

Returns – size

Halo have assured us that they will endeavour to resolve major sizing mistakes by a buyer. But in the first instance, it may be quicker to ask within the club and see if an exchange can resolve the problem quicker.

Returns – faulty

Halo are bound by standard trading laws on faulty garments, and we’d expect them to honour their responsibilities in full.

Discount for orders

Normally the discount is given when a bulk order is placed by a club. Halo are looking at a scheme to allow individual orders to aggregate up towards this bulk figure (£1500) over a sensible time frame, and then reimburse the club to the figure of the discount. If this arises and the club does benefit from this we would get back to the club on the options for using any reimbursement.
