A DTCC contingent was again fortunate to secure places in the Garmin Ride Out 2017– ‘beat yesterday  event held in the New Forest on Friday 1 September 2017.

This prestigious and well supported event is held annually and raises money for Action Medical Research, a charity that supports vital and ground breaking medical research into diseases that devastate the lives of children.

In the four years of the club’s history, we feel privileged to have attended the last three Garmin Ride Out events and supported such a worthwhile cause,  whilst enjoying the opportunity to ride in an extremely well organised  sportive in the world famous picturesque New Forest.

As in previous years, we were treated to Q&A sessions with members of a number of pro-teams,  this year, again compered by Dermot Murnaghan. We then took to the roads for a 50 mile ride in fabulous weather conditions and with great support.

The event was supported by partners and a number of trade stands with some offering mechanical support. One of our group suffered a serious ‘mechanical’ riding to the event and  benefitted from the generosity of Cannondale setting up and  lending him a bike to ride the sportive- it doesn’t get much better than that!

The sun shone and we had an outstanding time, all credit to Garmin and those involved in the organisation and delivery of an outstanding event that gets better every year!

Thank you Garmin we hope to join you again next year!
