A group of adventurous DTCC members took to the Forest of Dean on Sunday the 19th March to try out their mountain bike skills at Pedal a Bike Away Centre. (www.pedalabikeaway.co.uk)
The day was organised as something a little different and number of members took up the challenge and put their bike skills to the test. There were a number of challenging routes on offer and apart from the black run (lunatics only), all members completed the blue and more demanding red route. Seeing as many of our members are road going cyclists, the centre reminded us that mountain biking is demanding and challenging to keep the rubber the correct way down, along with great respect for the level of fitness required for some of the tough demanding sections.
With the clubs ongoing commitment to members, the off road day was a great success and will now hopefully open up the door for more interesting challenges and trips, encompassing different aspects of cycling.
We are conscious that this is your club and any members with ideas of other trips they would be interested in, please have a chat with a committee member and we’ll see what we can do.
