On Tuesday 4, September, 2018 a total of twenty two riders (including a couple of guests from Pewsey)  left Devizes Leisure Centre at 7.30am.
After an early(ish) coffee stop at Farleigh Hungerford we made our way to a point near the top of Cheddar Gorge and waited in eager anticipation.
We were treated, in advance of the breakaway group, to see Club a member comfortably spinning up the climb- I thought they used hares in dog racing.
The Tour, flashed by us in what was a matter of minutes but some of our group captured some excellent photos.
We then moved on to the Walled Garden Cafe at Mells (https://www.thewalledgardenatmells.co.uk/cafe) for an alfresco lunch which was first class.
Following that over indulgence, we made our weary way home.
I think I speak for the group in saying it was an outstanding day. Lots of banter and laughs but some personal challenges too. I won’t mention the punctures but I will the
great lunch, all topped off with seeing the ‘Tour’.
An endorsement of a great club with thanks to Richard Monk our Ride Co-ordinator for organising it and all those who took part- a great day in the country!
