Charitable Causes

Devizes Town Cycling has always been heavily committed to raising money for charitable causes – and whilst the club is only 3 years old, we have a good track record, one that we want to maintain. Whether its helping the fund raising efforts of individual club members or making donations direct to charities that the club has decided to support collectively, fund raising is and will always be a key part of our ethos.

Wiltshire Air Ambulance

The Wiltshire Air Ambulance Charitable Trust is obviously a cause close to our hearts. With several club members personally knowing people who have benefitted and one club member taking a ride in an air ambulance this is a charity that as far as possible we would hope club members never have need of!

Nonetheless, living in a county with small, narrow roads, long distances and travel times for 1st responders, it is a vital community service. And as cyclists we probably have even more reason to be grateful than most. For this reason, we plan to maintain and hopefully build on our support to this life saving service. So watch this space over the next 12 months – we plan to do more for the Trust, without reducing any of the support we have provided to other charitable causes at the same time.

In December last year the Club received a letter acknowledging the £150 the club has donated so far.
